“Changing the face of the insurance restoration industry, one salesperson at a time.”
We are passionate about this industry. Building a referral base of completely satisfied homeowners is the business lifeline of any restoration contractor. Restoring commercial and residential properties is what we do. But like it or not, we are in the “people business.” A contractor’s ability to create a uniquely positive, “customer experience” for the homeowner is the single most important skill to master in our trade. I have personally witnessed companies thrive for years after a major storm, with no new storm damage to speak of. Our livelihood and market share are directly tied to the level of customer service we provide to our homeowners.
“Insurance Restoration Specialist,” continues to be a term so loosely thrown around these days, it has lost all credible meaning. As you may know, our industry is negatively affected by under-trained salespeople claiming to be “experts in their field,” who are far from it. Poorly trained sales people oftentimes make up the majority of your competition. Obviously, there are well know contractors who provide a level of customer service and knowledge of our industry. Unfortunately, the reputation of these organizations can be negatively affected by representatives who sometimes have only 2-3 days “field training.” Unsuspecting homeowners tend to suffer the most from this lack of professionalism. As a billion dollar industry, we can do better than this.
While utilizing the opportunity to survey contractors nationwide, I became acutely aware of just how widespread these issues have become. Restoration companies surveyed included those with just a couple of sales people, to organizations with over 100 sales people! Having worked in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Minnesota and everywhere in between, I can assure you that there is a great opportunity to change the face of this industry for the good! We remain passionate about training representatives the right way to do this business. Our focal point remains in ensuring that your salespeople have the tools and knowledge required to be successful in this business, while leaving a lasting impression on the homeowner.
The following is an example of actual “training” employed by contractors in our field.
Friend of a salesman meets with the owner of a roofing company to explore their sales opportunity.
The owner Joe says, “What type of construction, insurance or restoration experience do you have?” Jim replies, “Well sir, I don’t have any to speak of…but I sold used cars once for a few months and waited tables in college.” Joe says, “Well in that case, go ahead and ride around with your buddy Mark for the next 3 days and if ya like what ya see…we’ll go ahead and get’ya some magnetics for your vehicle, temporary business cards, some contracts…and get ya out there sell’n right away!”
Unfortunately, I’m sure most will agree that this method of “training” is employed by the majority of contractors in this industry. This lack of professionalism is a complete disservice to homeowners who entrust contractors to restore their property after a catastrophic event.
Restoring the industries’ image is a passion of mine and has become my life’s work. Throughout my career I’ve had the opportunity to work with some of the top contractors in the country. During my journeys, I’ve had the opportunity to help grow and mentor multiple sales teams. Throughout this process, I’ve had the satisfaction of training more reps than I can count, on the right way to do this business. My training methods have benefited those with limited experience, to seasoned veterans looking to fine tune their salesmanship. Most remain close friends of mine to this day. Many have gone on to be “Top Producers” of their respected organizations. Some have gone on to be owners of their own roofing companies, licensed general contractors, and others are what I like to call “Free Agents.” These individual’s have the luxury of traveling from storm to storm while working for every contractor under the sun, without the downside of being tied down to one place!
In short, after years of training storm restoration salespeople nationwide, I decided to launch Elite Consulting Pro. I’ve invested years compiling detailed information of my experiences while formulating an easy to understand proprietary training system. Elite training will benefit the insurance restoration industry for years to come.
During my training course, you will NOT learn how to measure a roof, or the difference between an architectural shingle and a 3-Tab. This is easy to cover subject matter, and would be a waste of your time. You will learn a time tested, efficient, proven system to not only “outsell your competition” but increase your customer’s restoration experience. Course training will teach you specific methods of “Working smarter, not harder!” You will be taught strategy in generating business through referrals, not prospecting!
In short, you will learn how to BE ELITE, and you never look back.
